Great Western Record Recorders

Great Western Record Recorders is an analog recording studio owned and operated by Matt Talbott (previously singer/guitarist for Hum). A 750 square-foot wood and plaster live room is the center piece of an artist-friendly and beautifully constructed facility which offers new as well as seasoned musicians a rich and creative environment. The studio is located in an historic turn-of-the-century two-story brick building in downtown Tolono, Illinois, just south of Champaign, and offers just enough isolation for you to immerse yourself in your music without worldly interruption.



6/09 Just got a Studer A820 24 tk. It's awesome. First victims were Denver's Adai. A great session. Heavy as all heck. We tracked a 4 song EP and they are coming back in July to mix. No clowning around this time. New equipment coming soon: 2 new LA-2A clones and an EMT tube plate reverb! New projects coming soon: finishing up a full-length for locals World's First Flying Machine, and welcoming New Ruins and their beards in July for two songs for my new Great Western Records Label.
